This is one of the worst, most dangerous ideas in a long time.
But what really gets me is that gun purchase information is excluded from the plan. Ashcroft says gun purchase records are protected by the consitution.
Meaning that the government would know that I ordered a sweater from JCrew yesterday, but not that I bought a handgun last week.
Completely, utterly insane.
