After a week of interviews, you’d think there would be fewer factual errors, but I can’t look a gift horse in the mouth. There’s a story in this Sunday’s New York Times City section on my own beloved dog run.

So, are you a yuppie or a tough?
You must be one or the other, it seems, from reading the article. The author makes the group who uses the run seem much more polarized than I perceived them to be when I used it (I now take my dog to Wash Sq dog run, only because my pooch is more interested in playing fetch than in socializing with other dogs, and TSP run does not allow balls).

It’s a really wretched article, and not especially well-written. There’s a certain amount of gentry-local tension, but no more than anywhere else. Seems like the whole piece was built around that goddamn dogfight picture. Huge waste of ink, really — but we’ll take whatever press we can get.
