SKY news is reporting that the CIA is hunting six Iraqi agents in Mexico. Voice of America isn’t so sure. 200 Iraqis in New York were rounded up by the FBI. Germany is holding five suspects. French police found ricin in the Metro, but it’s apparently non-letal. Well, thank god for that. The French say that it may have instead been destined for Chechnya. Wha?

I don’t buy that there wasn’t enough to be lethal. If there was enough there to be found it was almost de facto enough to be lethal. Here are some Ricin Fun Facts from the CDC. They say a poisonous dose would be 500 micrograms, which would fit on the head of a pin.

It would take a deliberate act to make ricin and use it to poison people. Accidental exposure to ricin is highly unlikely.

Ricin can also get into water or food and then be swallowed.
