UNC Charlotte’s College of Computing and Informatics will host its fourth annual Software as a Service/Cloud Computing Conference. Software as a Service (SaaS)/Cloud has changed computing from a product to a service. For startups it makes it cheaper than ever to develop a new service, and easier than ever to scale it. For large businesses, the cloud turns computing from a capital expense to an operating expense, thus streamlining overall operations. The benefits can be enormous, but there are still many challenges ahead. Security, legal, reliability, and technical issues are among the areas of concern by many.
The conference program will be divided into topics of general interest to all attendees — technology and business related. The audience for this conference will include prospective customers of Cloud Computing solutions (including non-technical business personnel), application service providers, infrastructure providers, technology providers, and associated support providers.
This conference will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 on the UNC Charlotte Campus. It will run from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
