Clark, former Supreme Allied Commander in Europe, was on Meet the Press last week, and had some fascinating ideas about how a war on terrorism and rogue nations should be fought. Will he run on the Democratic ticket? Maybe. I hope so — it would be nice to see some foreign policy backbone on the ticket. Mickey Kaus, of course, hates him. The New Republic, for reasons I don’t fully comprehend, hates him even more. Their biggest beef? He doesn’t want a war to kill a lot of people, and he’s suspiciously like Colin Powell. Conspicuous by its absence: an alternate policy. Sour grapes for TNR.

Dear General,
You must be the General that participated in the Vietnam Campaign. I spent from 1992 to 1999 working in and out of Vietnam. In have made very important contacts in that country. I spent a great deal of time putting together a proposal for getting Cam Ranh Bay back to us. I had submitted a viable plan to Washington D.C. The White House and was told to mind my own business.
I had a solid agreement with the Vietnamese. It seems that it would be in our best interest to have the Bay back especially with what is going on with North Korea. If you can find any serious interest in this project, please get a hold of me, and I will continue working on this project.
Thanks,
Gerald Kacak, Commander USCG AUX, Homeland Security.
